MORE THAN
JUST A COACH.
INSTRUCTION
STRATEGIST.

UN-LEARN.

Motocross is a complex sport, and almost every rider begins their time on the bike with bad technique. They then spend years learning the bike with bad fundamentals. It’s my job to find those bad habits, break them down so the rider understands why they are poor techniques, and replace them with the correct techniques the motorcycle demands from the rider.

REBUILD.

Like learning a new language, we must start with the basics. Controlling a motorcycle requires mastery of the 5 magics:

  • throttle

  • front brake

  • clutch

  • rear brake

  • transmission

It takes 10,000 hours to become a master of anything. Understand that no matter how much coaching and instruction the rider undertakes, the rider must practice them at all times with or without the presence of the coach. However, a coach with mastery of these controls is required to rebuild the rider’s fundamentals from ground zero.

EXCEL.

Now we’re off to the races. Kind of. One thing I can guarantee, is that after a single training session with me- you or your rider will leave a better athlete than they showed up as. The learning curve is steep at first, but will taper to a more gradual and consistent refinement of execution. Just like in major league ball sports, constant technique drilling is required to prevent bad habit and laziness on the motorcycle.

You will excel. You will see success on the track. Your confidence will be built. You will become a better rider.

HISTORY.

I started racing moto in 1995 aboard the white KTM 50 SXR seen in this super-tuff photo. Don’t let that lil’ Jeff grin fool you, I was a cold blooded racer.

Throughout my 26 years of racing, I’ve collected championships by the dozens, instructed several hundred racers, launched three successful moto brands, and started a professional race team. I have the developed knowledge required to instruct, the accolades to back it up, and most importantly the ability to customize the delivery so you or your rider can absorb the information for on-bike execution.

I have no doubt in my mind that my instruction style is the best in the nation. During my years as an amateur rider, I trained with the top coaches of yesteryear. I blend the best of each coach, my time on 2 strokes mastering throttle control, and my current 4 stroke race craft. Mixed together to offer hands down the best techniques of each, in an easy to digest form, leaving every rider stoked on their progress.

CURRENT.

I’m still in the game, developing my craft and keeping current with the new techniques that morph as motorcycle technology continues to advance. It’s an evolving world, and part of being an instructor of quality measure requires being progressive and sharp.

An adage to live by in the world of moto:
”If you dislike change, you’ll hate extinction.”
